TEACHING STAFF VACANCIES

TEACHER OF MATHEMATICS (FULL-TIME, MATERNITY COVER)

Calderstones School has an exciting opportunity to appoint a dynamic and innovative Teacher of Mathematics to join our forward-thinking department for a period of Maternity Cover.  Mathematics is taught throughout the school by a team of high-skilled teachers and is very successful at Key Stages 3, 4 and 5. Maths is a popular subject at A Level and next year will see the introduction of A Level Further Maths as a timetabled option.  Our students achieve excellent grades at GCSE.  (See Department Information for more details).

The Mathematics Department is very well resourced with modern, spacious rooms boasting top quality equipment in all rooms. The use of ICT in learning and teaching is actively encouraged and is used extensively across the department.  Applications from NQT’s are welcome and the ability to teach A Level Maths and Further Maths is desirable, although not essential.

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (Maternity Cover)

The Governors are seeking to appoint a dynamic, well-organised, motivated Human Resources Assistant for a 12-month maternity cover. Applicants must be ambitious, enthusiastic and committed individuals.  

The Human Resources Assistant works closely with the school Human Resource and Administration Manager covering all aspects of HR.  This includes, but is not limited to, the recruitment of staff, onboarding, induction, payroll, data management and analysis, carrying out compliance checks, monitoring and management of staff absence, enabling performance management processes, co-ordinating staff training and development, updating and embedding policies and procedures, liaising with supply agencies and managing supply staff, promoting health and wellbeing Initiatives and employee relations including disciplinary.  A critical element of this role is overseeing cover requirements for staff, including reacting to unforeseen absences.

The ideal candidate will have a relevant HR qualification or working towards one with proven experience providing broad HR support, ideally in an educational setting.  The successful candidate will be a confident leader, able to line manage a small team and deputise for the HR Manager from time to time. LEARNING SUPPORT ASSISTANT

Scale 2 (Point 3 – 5)
27.5 hours (5 days) per week, Term-Time Only: 8.40am – 3.05pm

The governors are seeking to appoint a skilled and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant who is committed to making a difference and passionate about students’ learning.  As the successful candidate, you will have good literacy and numeracy skills and be able to support students both individually and within the classroom, and form positive relationships with students and colleagues.

The successful candidate will join an established team and work under the direction of the SEND Co-ordinator and teaching staff, enabling access to learning for all pupils.  You will work with, and supervise both individuals and groups of students and provide assistance and support in SEND classroom management.

  • Supporting an SEN pupil on a 1:1 basis in the classroom
  • Providing targeted support outside of the classroom
  • Work on differentiated activities with groups of students
  • Liaise with the SENDCO to deliver SEN provision
  • Developing social/emotional skills (depending on individual need)
  • Working with teachers to monitor progress of pupils
  • Accompanying pupils to relevant therapy sessions (depending on individual need)

ART AND DESIGN TECHNICIAN – GRADE 3
35 Hours Per Week, Term-Time Only, 1 Year Fixed Term Contract

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, reliable and suitably experienced Art and Design Technician to join a thriving, diverse Art and Design team.

Calderstones has excellent Art & Design facilities with four purpose built art rooms and a ceramics room. The department is well resourced with each room having ICT provision to include a digital projector and interactive white board. Other resources include six multimedia flat screen computers, colour photo printer, digital cameras, a printing press and a modern front loading kiln.

The successful candidate will need a proven background in the Art & Design, a good working knowledge of ICT and the ability to prepare equipment for KS3 and KS4 classes; experience at ‘A’ Level would be an advantage.  A qualification in the area of art & design (preferred BA Hons degree, BTEC Diploma, HND, Foundation Diploma).
