Calderstones School TV Appearance

Twenty Calderstones pupils from Year 8 were featured on Radio One's Official Chart Show (first ever TV show) on the CBBC channel in May. Pupils were interviewed about their thoughts on current music. The film crew and CBBC team were so impressed with our students talent and attitude that they came back to record a ‘Lip Dub’ in which over 100 students were involved. It was an exciting (yet exhausting!) couple of days. The Lip Dub involves pupils lip synching to an Avicii 'mash up' which was shown on the CBBC channel’s Official Chart Show on Sunday 28th June 2015.
There were various scenes throughout the two days of filming with some pupils chosen to be the main 'Lip Dubbers'. The CBBC filmed in various venues throughout the school which included an athletics scene, a classroom scene, a gymnastics lesson where a pupil falls off the climbing ladder and a superb cafeteria scene which involved some acrobatics from our students, a 'diva' singing on the canteen tills as well as dancing dinner ladies! They also came across a staff glow stick party going on during period 2, two pupils being rebels and travelling down the arts corridor on wheelie chairs instead of going to lessons, a pool party (which involved the camera man swimming under water) and a celebration in Quarry Bank Building to end the filming.
Well done to all pupils involved - Yet again you represented the school well and we are very proud of you.
(Many Thanks to all the staff who supported the event too).
